Postnatal assessment is ideal for anyone who has had a baby within the past 12 months, whether or not you have specific concerns.

Postnatal

Mummy MOT

After pregnancy, up to half of women experience weakness in both their abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, and about a third may still have a tummy gap at eight weeks postpartum. This can lead to instability and compromised core strength, which may result in pelvic or back pain, as well as issues with bladder, bowel and sexual function. These challenges are not something you should simply accept as part of having a baby.

I believe every woman deserves personalised, compassionate care during the crucial postnatal period. That is why I recommend a MummyMOT® around 6 weeks after giving birth. This early check-in helps us assess how your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles are recovering and allows us to tailor a safe and effective plan for returning to exercise. Please note you do not need to have had your GP 6 week check before this appointment. A MummyMOT® is a specialist physiotherapy postnatal examination for women following both vaginal and C-section deliveries.
